Was duty bound to hold a L4 sailing assessment at Rutland (definitely not my choice of location) to sign up a couple of students who had done their theory but not had the conditions for a practical. 140l board and 8.3m sails are not ideal for carve gybe demos but we struggled through with the patchy and fluky conditions to get 2 people signed up.

Had the opportunity to try a Hypersonic 105l with my 8.3. These were ideal conditions to test out the hype and believe me it certainly lives up to it. The board flies up wind and gives a smooth ride over the chop. Though speed is not easily quantifiable on your own it did seem noticeably faster than my AHD. Definitely an art to getting on the plane and planing out of gybes and the nose buries very easily if you step up to the mast. Might be adding one of these to my toy box.
